Livelihoods
It
focuses on initiatives on sustainable livelihood through multi
sectors approaches like farming, agro processing, environment
conservation, livestock keeping, vocational training etc. PHARP
endeavors to make publics affected by conflicts to be self
reliant in terms of food security and other socio economic
facets of development. PHARP also includes community
mobilization in initiation of cooperative movements and
management.
Trauma Healing, Reconciliation and Discipleship
This Programme focuses at different
communication patterns and embarks on dimensions of exploring
psychological processes leading to holistic healing and
reconciliation. Initiates and facilitates dialogue that promotes
reflection of the knowledge and experience from participants. This
programmes also aims at developing training manuals applicable to
needs of the target
group. Integrated psychological counseling services are provided.
Research Documentation and Publication
PHARP produces a variety of
materials to support its different programmes. These are aimed
at sensitizing target groups on the broad causes and impacts of
conflict, share their testimonies and real life experience in
wars.
We particularly focus on institutions with special interest in
research and implementation of programmes in the
matters of peace, justice, reconciliation, conflict
transformation and trauma healing.
PHARP also has a resource
centre that facilitates storage sharing and dissemination of
this information. It has a selection of materials on peace
building, leadership, development, health and HIV/AIDS,
counseling and
family life education. Most of these materials are inform of
books, journals, Video and Audio cassettes Emergency Response
The Programme focuses on
disaster management , humanitarian services to victims of
disaster/humanitarian crisis. PHARP reaches to the victims
through provision of food and other necessities, establish means
of compensating the herders who have lost their livestock to
drought, work towards more sustainable solutions to water
shortages such as sinking bore holes and help the most
malnourished children gain access to improved medication.
